As a clothes maker myself, I'm obsessed!! Can't wait to play the full version once it's out!
The game of course still needs some work, there's nothing much I can add that hasn't already been said down bellow but as the prototype you did great job and it can definetely be turned into an incredible game
Thing that to me was the biggest flaw is the way zoom works when adding details, same as, when rotating it would be very helpful to be able to view the dress from other angles rather than just rotating the manequinn left-right
Really enjoyed playing the prototype and will defiently purchase the game once the final version is released on Steam. I'd love the ability to be able to name our own 'creations' in the sewing journal, example 'The Eurydice dress' etc. I hope there will be more dress designs and patterns too :)
this game looks really fun, but i cant open it. every time i try, i receive a prompt that says,
"Microsoft Defender SmartScreen prevented an unrecognized app from starting. Running this app might put your PC at risk."
if anyone has found a way to bypass this SAFELY, please let me know. i am very new to games on itch.io and i worry about the safety and credibility of the downloads.
I think that there's a "More info" link on the SmartScreen popup, where you can choose "Run anyway".
This happens to apps that haven't been submitted to Microsoft for review, and are from unknown publishers (like us).
It's completely fair not to want to download and run software from someone you don't know though. The Steam version shouldn't have these issues when it comes out later this year, so you can wait until then if you like.
I love it! I hope the steam release has a "creative mode" because i genuinely could sit here making one million dresses forever, forget the customers these are for meeeeeeeeee i want morrreeee <3
this game is my now favourite game, i was so immersed in the sewing and creating dresses for people that i had stayed up all night playing it without even realizing
something i would like in this game is an undo button or maybe a 'restart this part' instead of having to restart the whole game. As much as i love the game i find it ashame when i mess up and a not able to undo and have to play the whole game again. But other than that this game is amazing and i will be buying it on steam the second it releases :)
Can you tell us which parts you wished you could undo? You can recut fabric by using the previously cut out fabric as your guide. We may look at adding a seam ripper to undo sewing.
I wish there were stages for each character, for instance you run out of money buying fabric and change your mind about the look, maybe also a back button for ribbons and accessories? I have made that mistake a couple playing the game and have noticed that if you want to restart it simply restarts the game, other than that I would say I love the game and i’m excited for the release date
Absolutely love this game and can't wait for the steam release! I would love to see more accessories. As another review mentioned, I would also like either a mechanism to know how much the dress will cost, or a way to restart a dress and start from scratch with your money returned. If you accidentally plan a design you unknowingly don't have the funds for, you're basically stuck when you run out of fabric. I ran into this issue and just decided to restart the game and try again. Regardless, such a fun game!
After playing for several dozen more hours(this is a really fun game) I have a few more suggestions!
A way to quickly get lace around the hem or around the edge of sleeves would be very helpful. At the moment, trying to get around the edges of shorter sleeves is pretty buggy and has a lot of clipping issues.
I would love to be able to use the coloring function to add the patterns to the sketch.
Skirt 6 takes about 25-30 meters of fabric if you aren't squeezing every last ounce of space out with the patterns. While it is a very beautiful skirt, I think a skirt with similar volume or something similar that requires less fabric would be good.
Some skirts have a waistband and some don't. I really like the waistbands and would like to be able to add them to some of the simpler skirts. Maybe a wider ribbon could be used to add that without changing the patterns?
None of the black fabrics are really all that dark. This is especially noticeable when paired with the black lace, which is several shades darker. At the moment, the Dark Gray Cotton, the Onyx Black Silk, and the Ink Black Wool are all basically the same color.
The lighting on the mannequin is really harsh at the top. Using a light fabric for a collar makes that area really bright and kinda hard to see.
I love this game a lot and I'm super excited to see more!
I love this game omg, i wish to see more in the future :3
It has pretty good mechanics but i would like to change the dress while making it and not having to delete it all and start over, even more when i just want to change only the skirt or something. Aside from that its awesome, i could (and already have) spend hours playing this.
Really nice and relaxing game! I have one note though: it would be nice to know more or less how much in total we will spend before buying the fabric, like after making the sketch. Because at the 3rd dress I didn't calculate good and now i can't finish this prototype of the game :C I would've loved to had an undo button OR at least (I really hope you add it) a way to earn more money --> the character JUST opened the boutique so it's natural to not have enough money, i'd love to be able to make like some chores to earn more money TT (like in a minigame form). Other than that I really liked the game, hope you will make it even better than it already is <3 Happy new year!
Thank you for the suggestion! We've added a fabric usage estimator in the sketchbook so you don't get an unwelcome surprise. (But I don't think we'll be updating the itch build any more until the game's done.)
We also have some ideas for earning extra money, but nothing concrete there yet.
I loved the game! This is my second time playing the prototype, and it's come so far! I love all of the technical changes, like the change to sewing, which makes it so much easier while still keeping the sewing feel. The lace is a little finicky, and I can't seem to put it anywhere but the main body of the dress. Also, I would love an unlimited money feature when it reaches the end, where we can continue making dresses if we'd like. I have so many designs I would like to try, but I run out of money too fast. Also, I think it'd be fun if we got to see the customers in our dresses! still love the game, and really liked the designs that I got to make for people!
I enjoyed the atmosphere, the music, the attention to detail in this game. I think the bows, trims, and flowers should add to the style points some bows are cute some are elegant but over all i found the process of making a dress very tedious and frustrating. My hand as the "mouse" and the space bar as the foot of the machine did not work together as it should. When you sew you're often pressing your foot on the pedal and guiding with your hand at the same time only stopping really to adjust. The mouse seemed slower than the foot of the sewing machine and made me incredibly frustrated. There needs to be some kind of dopamine sounds you could add once you sew each section and chances to undo the stitches and try again with a seam ripper would be nice. I appreciated the forgiveness about not going over that curve well however it wasn't fun to struggle. As someone who sews these kinds of dresses in real life, this was REALLY realistic in causing frustration lmao. Though as a game I think the point is to be fun. Cutting the patterns was fun tho a snap grid would be nice. decorating the dress was fun however it as frustrating getting trim around the bodice, on the edge of the seam of the sleeves because I couldn't rotate the camera to see what I was doing. Overall this game has REAL potential. Its attention to detail really seems like the creators KNOW how to sew however, it needs work to make it fun to actually play. I would also like the satisfaction of seeing the client WEARING the dress you made. A few ideas for the UI is to have an opt out version and that version be a mini game for the sewing and save the original for hard mode. A few other things, there should be an undo button on trims that is visible because I didn't understand that pressing right click with the scissors will exit you out of trim and pressing the pin again would unpin it? I think I did it right. I hope you guys will continue your development and don't take the feedback too harshly. I want this game, it's wishlisted on steam keep up the good work.
Has Steam killed the game star?... I was having so much fun following each update and seeing how the game was evolving! But you've gone quiet, quiet... Like real quiet. We were hoping for an early access or at least some news. Don't let this game die! 😭
This week we started sharing really early builds with testers in our Discord server. SO much has changed since the itch version, but we still have quite a lot to do.
I've been stepping back from making social media posts to spend more time working on the game itself (and resting over the festive season), but we'll try and still have some updates to show some of the things that we've been busy with on IG/Tiktok.
This game is SUPER fun, but putting on lace is a bit of a hassle. It zooms in only on the bodice part; so, trying to get it on the skirt can be really hard. As someone who doesn't know dress terminology it did take me a bit to figure out what each of the pieces of fabric actually represented. It would also be great to be able to zoom in, or click on your design, while in the cutting fabric phases, and also to be able to access it at all during the actually stylizing part where it's all coming together. Overall, it's very fun. I play lots of fashion designing games, but none feel like I actually made something, I can't say it's unique, that it's never been done. I can 100% say that everything I make feels unique, and it's a great feeling.
Omg yes, as someone who sews i was finding the sewing part the most frustrating ui design. I wanted my hand to guide the mouse with the space bar because that is the motion of sewing, your hand guide as you press the foot. I felt like there was a constant disconnect from what my mouse and my foot was doing.
Sounds like that’s a problem a lot of people who see have with this game. Personally I found it fun and easy to use, but I don’t sew. And who knows, it might be better the way you said.
Loved the game. The lace is glitchy tho and it's hard to zoom in, the left arrows goes right and the right arrow goes left for some reason, the pins are hard to click on.
This game seems absolutely amazing!I've finished the prototype and have made a couple dresses just for fun, and it was amazing to do. It was very relaxing, but also took focus. I'll definitely wish list on Steam and I can't wait to play more! I think the only things I would want to change is if you can change the thread color to match the design, the lace to be less glitchy, and to maybe be able to make men's clothing too, though that one I imagine as some form of DLC or second game. Thank you for making this game, I can't wait to see more!
And here is one of the dresses I made for fun, I'm going to make another based on a friend's wedding dress at some point.
I absolutely LOVE this game. I made an account to leave a review and have it wishlisted on steam. The music and art style really add to the coziness of the game, and I really like it. However, the sewing machine going whenever you try to shift the fabric is a little annoying. I'll be sure to keep a close eye on this gem! :)
The concept of the gamer is really good BUT as someone who sows its annoying and rage beating. WHY dose the sowing mashing sow when i am trying to follow the line where is the amount of fabric that i need to use why cant i move the piece things why do i not get more money? like how? Its a good gamer in concept but i cant recommend it i tried top play it like 4 dresses and its just annoying to me to use. And its not really giving you a real experience in sowing. i cant change the treat color on the sowing machine what yo need to do because you cant use red threat on other Fabrics. Its a good game for someone who never has sowed anything in their life but for me no i cant deal with the little things.
This is the dress I made for the opera, inspired by cinderella's pink dress :)
I really enjoyed it and can't wait for the full version. The placement of the lace or ribbon is very tricky. I had also had issues zooming out when I had zoomed in. Other than that, yay :)
my biggest complaint with this game so far is the difficulty with using the lace, I cant seem to get it to wrap neatly around the edges of a dress or sleeve without it bugging out like crazy! how apart from that small issue I adore this game and the concept, the patterns make lots of sense and the individualization you can put behind each piece is truely amazing! i am for sure wishlisting this on steam
I REALLY loved this game!! I already wishlisted it on steam and definitely gonna buy it once it comes out. I would really love it if you could try the fabric on the sketchbook, cause sometimes I picked 3 different shades of a colour but couldn't find fabric that matched the idea. I also got mixed up while cutting the patterns because I was having trouble figuring out which pattern belonged to a certain part of the dress, maybe it's because I'm a native Spanish speaker and maybe I didn't know the names? But overall LOVED IT!!!!
Loved this so much! 100% gonna buy the full version for myself an my Mom. Just moving the Cam while decorating the dress was quite wonky. I'd also love if you could see the pattern better? Like an extra Menu where you can see the full Pattern of each Piece.
I really love the updates! I'm so happy they added lace. It allows for a lot more creativity. The way the sewing works now was a little hard to adjust to since I'm used to the older version, but I have to say it is a lot easier now! The only thing I want to say is to make the lace overlay a little easier to do. It's not difficult, but it does get messed up, so you have to pin it down in shorter pieces. Maybe for longer sections it would be nice to may it lay it down for you, and you can choose to select that section to overlay the lace onto. I think that would be great and make it easier for a lot of people. Anyway, I want to show what I did with the ribbon hemming because it's so beautiful! Please add more colors for ribbons!
Some designs I made-- it's the most relaxing game I've actually ever played!
It could be better if the controls were a bit easier, like a better way to zoom in and rotate while adding decorations.
And I really hope there will be a freeplay system in the official game where maybe it's a cheat mode or something where there's unlimited money and you can make whatever designs you want instead of always doing the quests-- i really liked the freeplay element in this prototype version.
I've also found a bug in cutting the fabric: when you click the pattern with the scissors and it starts cutting and you leave the cutting page (or table or tab whatever it is) before it finishes and return back, it has the scissors keep moving, but not actually cutting it, yet the patter still seems to stay in place so you cant place a new pattern piece in its place (it collides) and the only way to fix this is the leave the game itself and come back. If that gets fixed I believe it would be wonderful!
I love this game, the variety of things one can make is amazing!! I've never really seen a game like it before and I'm really looking forward for the full release of the game :D
The only suggestion I might have is regarding the grain quality feature. Perhaps, if possible, it could be toggled on or off. I find it more fun to figure out how to position the fabric pieces in a way that saves fabric, and with the grain quality feature, the player is required to position them a certain way, which doesn't allow much freedom in that aspect.
I really love the game though!! I'll be playing regardless, It's a lot of fun!!!
Also, it would be really great if you could manually zoom in when looking at the mannequin and adding accessories.
Also make it easier to exit the game, at the moment, if you want to switch to another tab temporarily you have fully close the entire game and its really annoying to keep opening and closing it.

Really fun game!
I really like the customization options and the characters are fun.
I would like to see more accessory options and the ability to undo lace/trim. It's also kind of hard to get it in specific places.

OMGG I JUST PLAYED THE GAME ITS SO GOOD AND NO MORE UPDATE???????? STILL NOT FULL VERSION OUT IN THE STEAM??????? WHEN???? IM DYING PLSSSSS
I just love this game, i wish we can play the beta again ;-;
note: the site just dont let me post a image of one of the dresses I made
Absolutely love it! I hope there's more customers/levels when it comes out cos I need MORE!!!!
