This is incredible, this not only has fun mechanics but I actually think its a brilliant introduction to sewing! It gives new sewists a general idea of how different 2D shapes create different 3D shapes when sewn together. I think this is a brilliant start and would love to see this funded and turned into a full blown game.
I haven't played too much, but I would love to see different techniques be added like different ways to finish the hem, darts. I think that also having the mouse be the movement while hitting a different key for the sewing would be good, kind of like the separation between pressing the pedal and using your hands to move the fabric.
This is amazing though, thank you so much for making this, I truly truly hope that this becomes a full project. Best of luck!
Very fun, I loved the sewing and got a handle on it quite fast. It would be fun to have a record player in the shop that you can click to change the music, and it would be fun to have some more tracks that are inspired by the era of the game. Would love some jazz to sew to! Would definitely buy this as a complete game.
The game I've been waiting for for so long. It has everything that a good simulator has! Granularity, simple but engaging gameplay, and an addicting loop. The newspaper never changes, and there's not a ton of variety but all things that could be added into a full game. I'd love for this to come out so I could just get lost making clothes forever! I'd be happy to purchase this and DLC for different types of clothes and new designs. I think it'd be fun if there was a dialogue option when you get a new order so you can learn more about your client. Gives a similar vibe to Strange Horticulture with different clients from the city, a slowly progressing story (hopefully), and the option to give people dresses that affect what's going on outside our little shop.
FINALLY! I've been wanting a game like this for so long!! I was fortunate enough to not run into any bugs and I had a great time playing and making dresses! I wish I had a little more knowledge in sewing as sometimes it was difficult figuring out which pieces were which when it came to cutting the right color fabric. Maybe a little 3d preview to show where the piece goes on the final dress?? I dunno but either way PLEASE let this game get a full release!!! Thank you for creating such a fun prototype, I hope to see this game grow!!! :D
I am really loving this game, I want more of it, I want it to be a real thing with more patterns and maybe embroidery. Maybe the ability to customise the shop by having displays of our dresses in the window.
Expand the initial design please please please greenlight this game
I played the update. A few bugs, naturally. There's some issues putting the fabric on the mannequin and some issues with clipping. I did find a bug when I was sewing a piece of fabric, there was no guideline on where to sew and it just kicked me out once I failed but couldn't try again like normal. There was also a bug when I was making the dress that requires 5 bows. It wouldn't count the bows until after you completed the dress.
But I love the update. I was so excited to play when I saw it. Almost didn't go to class. I love that you can go back and see the dresses and I really like the colored pencil that was added!
That's awesome! I love it, just my childhood dream game, when I used to cut papers clothes and put them on my paper dolls lmao, hope it gets the fame it deserves. I'll be waiting for the final game <3
Wow!I dreamed of a game like this when I was a kid.I envy modern kids) I hope you can release a full-fledged game.I would love to play it
My favorite is creating a dress and matching the puzzle on the fabric. But it would be great to reduce the amount of sewing a little - for example - 3-4 times per dress.I understand that this will reduce realism, unfortunately, but this part can become quite monotonous in future gameplay
Playing the updated version right now!! It's very cool and I love all the new things. One problem I've encountered is that I'm using the mannequin and I can't add the last two pieces of fabric- they won't clip to the thing so am stuck. Have tried turning it off a few times!! However I'm really enjoying it otherwise
1) It lagged a little while sewing, but if I exited the scene and came back it ran ok again.
2) While placing the fabric on the manequin, sometimes it took a lot of time for each piece to recognize it's place.
3)While placing accesories (5 bows), the task didn't register any of them there. But when I went to see my previous works it said I had placed only 4 of them.
This is so fun and cute I cannot wait for the full game!! I would love to see options to change controls around, as it's be nice to be able to hold space instead of clicking while sewing as it can start to cramp the hand. Some of the pieces were a little difficult to add to the dress-form, the one skirt with the two layers of ruffles gave me so much trouble. I love all the color options and the amount of details we get control over! Thank you for such a cute cozy game! Excited to see more!!
I think being able to hold space (as in... the button) would actually make sewing easier for a lot of people, and mirrors using your foot a bit better! I just wanted all the controls to be on one button if possible, but maybe that would be better!
I really really love the concept!! I see you mentioned the sewing lines, but I also think a sort of checkpoint on sewing would be nice! If you mess up, rather than start over there could be a little save. I've been having trouble with the machine not reading my touchpad and going too far or too short. The color schemes when in the sketchbook were also flashing and moving out of frame. Overall, i really love the concept and the game, and I am excited to watch as it continues to evolve!
Ah, I think sewing might be a bit tricky on trackpad, I will think about making it a bit better there. You can try changing the speed of the sewing machine!
I've left a review before, after the initial drop, and I tried the current update. Overall, I would say that I have the same sentiments! The game is cozy and very relaxing to play, the added accessories and fabric patterns also allows a lot more customizations and creativity. However, there is an issue in this update that I didn't have before, which is attaching the fabric onto to mannequin. I made a dress with layered sleeves, and it took me a long time to get the fabric to attach to the mannequin. But overall, the game is still really fun and super relaxing! I hope this becomes a full game soon! <3
I really enjoyed my experience with this, it reminds me of a Disney princess dress design game I had as a kid. The graphics are great, both for the shop and customers as well as the dressmaking stations. One tiny thing is that the sewing can be a bit tedious and being able to cut the pattern horizontal and vertical would help, because fabric is very expensive.
Overall like 90% positive and something I would gladly purchase as a full game.
This game looks really fun but unfortunately I can't even complete the tutorial! The sewing minigame is very difficult and it'd be nice to see some accessibility features for players who struggle with it. Please let me know if this is added, because I'd love to play this game fully!
I had a very hard time with this as well. It's not very intuitive, If you go very very slowly, and kind of stop-start I think it can be done. It just takes a long time and is tedious. However, you're 100% right, there should be an option to opt out or something that helps with even greater auto-alignment
Hey! I'd love to see someone play who struggles with it, I think it isn't necessarily hard, I think we are just not that good at teaching how to play! There is now a speed setting on the sewing machine which might make it a bit better.
This game was a lot of fun to play! Especially as someone who likes to sew but can't always sew what I want. I played it on my Mac and it ran fairly smoothly. I did have a bit of trouble with the actual sewing portion of the game, though. The tutorial didn't explain how to use the sewing machine, so it took me a couple of minutes of clicking around and trying different buttons to figure it out. It was a little choppy at first, but once I got the hang of it was smoother. I do kind of wish that instead of having to push forward on the mouse to push the fabric through, it were instead the w/up key, and then rotating the fabric would still just be moving the mouse. I also think it would be a lot of fun if you could see the characters in the dresses you made for them, but I know that would be a lot of work to add. A couple of bugs I had while playing were that occasionally the back button would disappear, and so I would have to close out of the game to get it to appear again. There was also one time that the sewing markers weren't on the fabric. Overall, I really enjoyed the game, and I can't wait to see how it progresses more, and I can't wait for a full game release!!
Oh I cannot express how much I loved the idea of the gam and really hope that this will become a full release in the future!
Buuuut... I ran into some issues while playing it, for some reason (and maybe it might be just an OS issue, since I'm running it on a Mac), but when trying the coloured pencils on the sketch it would just simply create a "black version" of the colour instead of changing the colour totally.
I like the idea of having a hand while sewing but it can become extremely distracting because of it's constant up and down motion, still on the sewing part.. there is a really steep learning curve to it and it becomes okay-ish after a while. Although I still need to mention a bug that I came across with, all of the sudden while sewing the pieces together it would randomly go from 100% to -60% making me start the sewing process of the piece all over again.
Oh and still talking in bug.. I noticed if you click quickly in the pattern pieces with the scissors to cut them... you won't be able to put down the scissors.
But please continue developing the game since it really has potential and would be awesome to see this published! Great job (and sorry for breaking your game).
The game is great. One thing I noticed is, that when I access the pause menu while assembling my dress, It won't pause the game correctly and still moves stuff around, whil I try to adjust the volume.
Another problem I had is, that I accidentally moved a piece while the cutting animation ran, causing a big chunk of discard that ruined my dress.
I love this game! I've never used Itch.io before but when I saw this on Instagram I had to jump on it.
I really loved designing the dresses, choosing fabrics and and decorating the outfits.
I'd love to see this develop beyond dresses into other garments as well, including masculine clothes like suits as well as casual wear. Can't wait for the full game to be developed and released!
I love this game so much I really want it to become a full game. I made an account here solely so I could leave a comment.
I'm not sure if this is just a me thing since I haven't seen anyone else talk about this, but I think there might be a bug where the sketch dress is just black and i can't change it.
I love the game so far! I remember seeing a reel about this when it wasn't even playable yet, so its amazing to see how far you guys have come! I think a feature that would be really handy is when you are drafting the pattern you can choose which pattern pieces will be your "main" fabric and which will be the "accent" fabric.
I will say the only problem I experienced was when I picked up a pattern piece that was still being cut the scissors/cutting animation continued on to the rest of the fabric and ruined it. This could also be user error, but it makes sense why it would do that, I think maybe a warning about this in the tutorial would be good. I also noticed that the newspaper said the same thing after each commission, I'm not sure if it was supposed to change or if that's something you're still working on.
Overall its an amazing game and such a unique concept!! It was a ton of fun and I definitely won't play it to procrastinate my current sewing projects... lol
It's a really beatiful game. Tons of fun to design dresses but my favorite part is fitting the pattern efficiently on the fabric. Hope budget and time constraints would feature more in a full game.
btw; I noticed that something was up with the progress scores. Wanted to see what the effect was of the fabric vs the pattern so made the whole dress out of burlap. I easily hit every goal despite neither the pattern or the fabric indicating 'Elegant' at all.
Oh, thank you! There is a bug that when a score goes to 0, the display does not update properly, and potentially a miscalculation with scores as a whole.
I've really been enjoying this game so far! I'm a costume designer/seamstress so it's right up my alley!
Most of the things I would suggest are things you've stated you're considering (more silhouette options, sizing, more fabrics, ect.)
I also think adding details like embroidery, piping, matching accessories (being able to make custom bags or dye shoes would be a neat touch!) could be really interesting. Additionally, adding sewing details like stitching darts or a gathering mini-game would add a touch of realism if that could be pretty neat.
A little bug I had:
-My second dress did not let me stitch it and was stuck on -274872384783 or so quality lol. It was accepted by the customer though
This update is fantastic! Really, I appreciate all the work you're doing here! I love the part about being able to see the stats on the pattern as you make it. I do think though that it would be more streamlined if you could alter the tutorial to have the player buy fabric first, so there were swatches to put on the sketchbook. I also think being able to sort by tag would be nice in the fabric store: being able to see all "cute" fabrics or all "glamorous" fabrics would be great! And if the accessories could be tagged I think that'd be neat!
I Love the new Update! Being able to pin the fabrics is great. It would be cool to be able to either pin fabrics you haven't bought or be able to buy just fabric swatches instead of needing to purchase at least a meter.
There was a windows bug where at the cutting table when discarding used fabric, it will kick out pattern pieces from the righthand bin that have been cut since the last time you discard fabric. theyre able to picked back up but can sometimes get stuck behind the pattern piece bin
Hi :)! I played this game a couple weeks ago, before the big update, and it was rlly cute and fun.
The one complaint I had though was that I felt like only my fabric choice had a difference on how "cute" or "elegant" my dress was considered, when I think the pattern is much more significant. I think maybe this has been changed now?
If I play again I'll definitely upload a picture of my next dress! Great work!
I'd like to see more of a "guide" for sewing (i.e., the line turns yellow or red when you've gone too far), as well as more dress patterns to choose from. Another thing that would be really helpful would be the option to roughly color in the sketch with the fabric/pattern and to be able to reference the sketch as I'm purchasing/cutting the fabric! I kept finding myself going back to my sketch or going from the cutting table to the mannequin often, just to make sure I was happy with the pieces I was grabbing. I'd also like a layering and sizing option, primarily for the accessories. Overall, though, this is such a cute, cozy game that I would love to play more of!!
I loved this! Came across it on ticktok and decided to download and give it a try. Absolutely brilliant. i would like the option when cutting out to lay out the whole pattern and move back and forth but thats being picky. I really enjoyed it and played through it all in one evening
I love this game so much! The music is so relaxing and the sound design is also peak. All the bugs I found are already mentioned above and i don't think they're gamebreaking by any means. Would prolly play this for hours and forget all my real world responsibilities when it actually comes out!
I loved playing this!!! I cant wait for a full game. I want a whole story and everything, I will totally be looking out for the updates on this. The only thing I would love to see is when we are drafting the dresses is that the colors would only be the ones we currently have available to us. I also think getting the sewing to stay on 100 is a little tricky (that could just be a skill issue on me, I've only just got a gaming laptop) so I'd possibly liked to see a little wiggle room or something on there. This game is great and I will be anticipating the full release!!!!!!!!!
It was a great prototype loved playing and enjoyed. I had a great difficulty starting out since there were instructions for 2 steps before having non, this made me lost on where to go next and how to actually proceed with the game. The official version there will more than likely be a tittle screen, when I started it was a little surprising that I was put into the world without any like buffer. Also since I exited the game a couple of times the volume didn't stay where I put it prior. For the creating the design of the dress itself I wished there was a hint or like a description of how each bodice type is better for what occasion. Overall I really enjoyed and am excited to play the real thing.

Hey! Long time seamstress and costumer here.

I just played the updated version-- and oh my! It is so much better than the initial version! I hope you can turn this into a proper game, I love it!
Love this! The concept is stellar. The fact that you are making the dresses every step of the way is genius. Thank you for sharing!
IT IS AWESOME! I LOVE IT!
I'd love to have a full version of this!
Things that happened to me:
1) It lagged a little while sewing, but if I exited the scene and came back it ran ok again.

Overall its an amazing game and such a unique concept!! It was a ton of fun and I definitely won't play it to procrastinate my current sewing projects... lol
Could we have an icon image for it pls? I don't have one and it looks bland on my pc
Hey! Thanks for the feedback - The new update has this :)
Hi!

I really enjoyed it and played through it all in one evening
how do we know what style of dress to do example; what kind of sleeves or what neck line to have?
I loved it, I hope once the full game comes out that we get more patterns, that was the only thing i found to be restricting.
Edit, I would also love a way to see dresses that I have designed previoulsy, like in a catalogue or something
This is a dream come true for every gaming seamstress. I love this so much!
